So I know this is a little late, but hopefully it helps. I was struggling myself to get the d70 to work and if you haven't figured it out yet here's what I had to do:

1) Go into preferences and click "Enable Support for Older Models" and then restart Sofortbild.

2) Make sure your camera is set to PTP in the USB setting (In menu go to the wrench image and then to the USB section and change to PTP).

3) Take out your CF card, otherwise the camera won't finish writing the image! I kept getting r00 error and having to pull my batery out to even turn off the camera (the on/off switch stopped working, and the camera would remain on regardless).

4) If it still doesn't work after this, make sure another program isn't set up to recognize the camera. I originally had ImageCapture set to recognize the device and for some reason that would keep Sofortbild from recognizing it.

I hope this help you out Anthony. I was frustrated as well, but now I'm greatly pleased it works. I also hope you're not offended by the overly simple step-by-step instructions (especially step #2). I just wanted to cover all the bases.

Good luck friend!

I hope all has been going well with you.

Many thanks for your work.
Feature suggestion: facility to take a focus stacking series of shots. User specifies start focus point, end focus point, number of focus steps and time between exposures (allowing flashes, if used, to recharge).

Hello! I think a fantastic initiative and a wonderful application.

You have forecast, or it is possible to see something similar but in the iPad?

Use an iPad would be infinitely more comfortable and portable!
