After a very long delay, Sofortbild 1.3 is now available for download on the Mac App Store.
The changes:
- Sofortbild is now compatible with the Mac OS X sandboxing security model. This major change is required by Apple for apps distributed on the Mac App Store.
- Added support for D5200. This had been previously released as version 1.2.9 as direct download.
- Fixed issues with D800(E) and D600. This had also been release as part of version 1.2.9.
The second major change is that Sofortbild moved into a new home. Stefan Hafeneger, the original developer of Sofortbild can no longer maintain the product. More on that transition later…

says:I love this product but I recently upgraded to the Nikon D810. Do you feel like it’ll be supported soon? Thanks so much 🙂
Florian
says:The D810 is definitely on the shortlist. Unfortunately we don’t have such a camera. Please email us or fill out the Contact form if you would be willing to help testing once we have a beta version.
Thanks,

Laurentia
says:Hi,
the support for D810 and D750 are there plans to short delay ?
Thanks
Florian
says:I recently got a D750 myself, and see the comment above for the D810. So yes, both are on the list, but no comments on when this will happen. Sofortbild is a hobby project for our spare time.
Also, as outlined above, we would need a few beta testers, especially for the D810 support.

says:Using Nikon D7100 with latest firmware when shooted I have brocken image in viewport. Look like upper half of picture dublicated and placed in place where bottom half should be. Actual image on disk is OK. Also when in LV mode Sofortbild unable to control my camera.
Florian
says:Please contact support (see menu) and include details like Mac and OS version used so we can look into it. Running Sofortbild 1.3 on both Macs I have here with a D7100 doesn’t show this bug.

Stephen Borowko
says:Hello, What are the latest firmware versions for the D7000 and the D7100 that are compatible with Sofortbild 1.3? I am having live view issues with my D7100. I am also rebuilding my D7000 (new motherboard) and when fixed, want to be sure it is using compatible firmware. Thanks! Steve
Florian
says:I guess your problem is that Sofortbild 1.3 is not compatible with either Mac OS X El Capitan or macOS Sierra. You need to try the beta available at http://www.sofortbildapp.com/beta
Josh
says:Any update here? I have the exact same scenario… Max OSx 10.10.4 – Sofortbild 1.3 D7100
ruelcordero
says:Hi, can Sofortbild tether with a Mac using an Ethernet cable and a Nikon D4?
Florian
says:Hi! Unfortunately I have to admit I have no idea. We don’t have access to a D4 and not the funds necessary to get one.
On the other hand, as Sofortbild is free, you might want to try for yourself and share the results with the Sofortbild community. I’d be happy to publish a blog article on the topic when you provide us with the necessary information 🙂
